Breastfeeding is a journey
Breastfeeding is not straightforward and very few moms would tell you it comes “naturally”. The marrying of medical and lactation training is a service we are excited to offer in both a group and individual setting.
One-on-One Sessions
One-on-one consults can be scheduled throughout the week for 60-90 minute sessions. Many moms start with an individual session for more focused work and return to the group for minor issues, follow up and routine weight checks.
Group Sessions
Group sessions are offered to breastfeeding mothers every Thursday from 3-5pm. These sessions are limited to 8 mom/baby pairs, so please check the patient portal or call our office to schedule.
Group lactation sessions are held in a round, so that all moms have the opportunity to hear others’ questions and concerns as well as the advice and guidance provided by the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). All groups are led by a dual certified pediatric clinician and lactation specialist.
Lactation Gift Cards
Help get mom and baby off to a great start with the gift of a one-on-one lactation visit with Molly Gilpin, PA-C IBCLC. This 90 minute session includes a thorough prenatal history, assessment of latch and milk transfer and an individualized feeding plan. Contact the office to learn more.
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Therapeutic ultrasound has been shown to decrease the pain and discomfort of engorgement, clogged ducts and mastitis. Ultrasound has both thermal and non-thermal effects, including acceleration of metabolic rate, reduction of pain and increased circulation. Complete Care Pediatrics is excited to offer this treatment modality.
